What a credit is

Create as many cases as you need. Processing credits are only used when Salt Cold processes new evidence. Every new account includes 2 free processing credits.

What one credit covers

  • Audio / video: up to 120 minutes
  • Documents / PDF: up to 50 pages
  • Screenshots / images: up to 50 images
  • Pasted text / transcripts: up to 30,000 words

Material of the same type is added together before it is priced. Four thirty-minute recordings are 120 audio minutes, which is one credit — not four. Mixed evidence is calculated one type at a time and the amounts are then added together. The total is always shown before processing starts.

Actions that never use a credit

  • Creating, renaming, opening or organizing a case
  • Uploading evidence without processing it
  • Viewing evidence or an existing analysis
  • Searching, pinning and highlighting
  • Deleting evidence or cases
  • Downloading an export that has already been generated

Failed processing

If a processing job fails to produce any result, its credits are returned. Each job carries a unique job identifier, so a retry of the same job is never charged twice.

Large archives

You are never required to process an entire archive at once. Select part of the queue, process it, and leave the rest queued. Queued evidence that has not been processed does not use credits.

Purchasing

  • Small: $9 for 10 processing credits
  • Standard: $24 for 35 processing credits
  • Archive: $49 for 80 processing credits
  • Deep Archive: $89 for 175 processing credits

Paid processing credits do not expire. Prices are in USD; taxes are calculated at checkout.

Beta program

The beta program is separate from the free trial. A valid beta coupon grants full processing access for 30 days. When the beta period ends, nothing is deleted — the account simply returns to the normal processing-credit system.
